Victor Knapp has been practicing law since 1981 specializing in criminal defense and parole related matters. He has honed his trial skills over the past 20 years, having successfully litigated thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases ranging from serious felonies (homicides, robberies, narcotics trafficking, white collar crimes) to misdemeanors (DWI, shoplifting, assaults, domestic violence).

Some of his publicized cases have included Lorenzo (Fat Cat) Nichols and Howard (Pappy) Mason (both charged with drug trafficking and the homicide of a parole officer), John Saggese (acquitted of rioting charges in the Howard Beach II Trial) and James Stone (currently charged with others in the homicide of a Chinese food deliveryman).

Related to criminal defense work, Mr. Knapp also has specialized in parole related matters (release and revocation hearings, habeas corpus and Article 78 proceedings), having successfully challenged the New York State Division of Parole in the precedent setting case of People ex rel Reginald Robertson v. N.Y.S. Division of Parole, 67 N.Y. 2d 197 (1986).

Mr. Knapp is also an effective appellate advocate, having handled numerous appeals and post-conviction proceedings. Some of his precedent setting cases include People v. Mertz, 68 N.Y. 2d 136 (1986), and People ex rel Robertson v. N.Y.S. Division of Parole, see above.
